Meet Your Therapist
Dr. Jennifer Betancur is a psychotherapist and published author with clinical experience spanning over 15 years. She holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of South Florida and a graduate degree in clinical social work from Florida State University. Dr. Betancur honed her clinical skills during her rotations at the Veteran Affairs Bay Pines Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, followed by a two-year clinical internship in a private practice setting.
Dr. Betancur’s commitment to professional growth led her to earn a Ph.D. in clinical sexology from the Modern Sex Therapy Institutes. She is a certified Sex Therapist accredited by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
Dr. Betancur authored Modern Child-Free Couples: A New Narrative on Life, Love, and Family. Her book offers relationship guidance and support for individuals and couples choosing to live child-free.
In her private practice, she helps clients navigate various existential issues, including relationship difficulties, sexuality and intimacy, workplace challenges, retirement, parenthood, anxiety, depression, and more. Her practice is dedicated to fostering emotional well-being in adults throughout their lifespan.
Beyond her academic and professional accomplishments, Dr. Betancur is a first-generation Colombian-American who has had the opportunity to reside in diverse international settings. She firmly believes that a comprehensive understanding of the world is essential for effective patient care.
